Arista Data Center Switches
Arista switches run Arista EOS (Extensible Operating System) and are the standard for hyperscale and high-performance data center fabrics. Enterasource stocks Arista 7000-series switches across multiple speed tiers:
- 7050 Series (7050S, 7050QX, 7050QX2) — 10GbE and 40GbE leaf/spine switches with wire-speed L2/L3 forwarding. The 7050QX-32S provides 32 ports of 40GbE QSFP+ for spine-layer deployments.
- 7060 Series (7060CX-32S) — 100GbE QSFP switches for high-bandwidth spine and leaf roles. 32 ports of 100GbE in a 1U form factor.
- 7048 Series (7048T-A) — 48 ports of 1GbE copper with 10GbE SFP+ uplinks. Access-layer switch for management networks and out-of-band infrastructure.
- 7280 Series (7280SR-48C6) — 48 ports of 10GbE SFP+ with 6 ports of 100GbE QSFP. Routing-optimized for peering and WAN edge.
All Arista switches are available in front-to-rear (F) and rear-to-front (R) airflow variants to match your data center hot/cold aisle orientation.
HP and HPE Aruba Switches
HP ProCurve and HPE Aruba switches serve campus access and distribution layers. Enterasource carries ProCurve 2500, 2600, and 2800 series managed switches for 100BASE-T and 1GbE access deployments, as well as the HPE 3800 series for 10GbE uplink-capable campus cores. PoE and PoE+ models are available for powering wireless access points, IP phones, and security cameras.
Mellanox InfiniBand Switches
Mellanox (now NVIDIA Networking) InfiniScale IV switches provide 40Gb QDR InfiniBand connectivity for HPC clusters and low-latency compute fabrics. The IS5022 (8-port), IS5023 (18-port), and IS5030 (36-port) switches deliver sub-microsecond latency for MPI workloads and parallel storage access. InfiniBand is the standard interconnect for GPU training clusters and HPC environments where Ethernet latency is insufficient.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What Arista switches does Enterasource carry?
- Enterasource stocks Arista 7000-series switches including the 7048T-A (48-port 1GbE copper), 7050S-52 (52-port 10GbE SFP+), 7050QX-32S and 7050QX2-32S (32-port 40GbE QSFP+), 7060CX-32S (32-port 100GbE QSFP), and 7280SR-48C6 (48-port 10GbE + 6-port 100GbE). All models are available in front-to-rear and rear-to-front airflow variants. Every switch is fully tested with current EOS firmware before shipping.
- What is InfiniBand and when should I use it instead of Ethernet?
- InfiniBand is a high-bandwidth, low-latency interconnect designed for HPC clusters and GPU training environments. At 40Gb QDR, InfiniBand delivers sub-microsecond latency — significantly lower than 10GbE or 25GbE Ethernet. Use InfiniBand when your workload requires MPI communication between compute nodes (scientific simulation, financial modeling) or high-throughput GPU-to-GPU communication in AI training clusters. Use Ethernet for general-purpose data center networking, web/app traffic, and storage networks.
- Do refurbished Arista switches support the same EOS features as new?
- Yes. Arista EOS is a software feature of the switch — refurbished hardware runs the same EOS release as new devices. EOS supports BGP, OSPF, EVPN-VXLAN, MLAG, and all standard data center protocols. Software maintenance and support contracts are available separately through Arista. Enterasource tests all switches with current EOS firmware and resets configurations to factory defaults before shipping.
