Enterprise SAS SSDs — 2.5" SFF for Dell PowerEdge and HPE ProLiant
Enterasource stocks enterprise SAS SSDs in 2.5" SFF form factor for Dell PowerEdge, HPE ProLiant, and Supermicro servers. SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) solid-state drives are the standard high-performance storage media for enterprise RAID configurations — offering faster random IOPS than SAS HDDs, dual-port redundancy for HA deployments, and full SMART monitoring through the server’s RAID controller.
SAS SSDs connect to the server’s SAS HBA or RAID controller (Dell PERC, HPE SmartArray) rather than directly to the motherboard like NVMe drives. This makes them appropriate for systems with existing SAS backplanes and RAID controllers without requiring additional PCIe adapters. Available capacities range from 400GB to 3.84TB across multiple generations (12G SAS and 6G SAS).
All SAS SSDs are tested with SMART data verified and controller-level diagnostics run before listing. Compatible caddies are available separately.

SAS SSDs are the right choice when your server has a SAS backplane and RAID controller already in place, you need dual-port redundancy for high-availability deployments, or you’re expanding existing SAS SSD capacity in a running system. NVMe is faster but requires PCIe connectivity — not all server chassis and RAID configurations support NVMe expansion without additional hardware.
